Xenia Township tracking canines are trained in scent discremination. This means that they are trained to follow only the scent of the person who is lost. Every one has there own scent it is almost like a fingerprint. The area search canines are trained off lead to clear a large area quickly. These types of canines look for any human scent in an area. Cadaver canines are trained to find human remains that are both burried or underwater.

All Xenia Twp. Canine members are required to also be members of the Miami Valley K-9 Search Team.
